Property & Conveyancing FAQ's
How can property owners obtain a pool safety certificate?
In order to obtain a pool safety certificate an inspection must be completed by a licensed pool inspector who is vested with the power to issue a certificate. It should be noted that licensed building surveyors will also automatically qualify as pool safety inspectors.
The pool safety register provides a list of all pool safety inspectors in Queensland and a search can be conducted from http://www.dlgp.qld.gov.au/pool-safety/.
Additionally, a Pool Safety Council has been set up to oversee the licensing of pool safety inspectors and the independent body provides the following services:
• licensing, auditing and, if required, disciplining pool safety inspectors;
• approving pool safety inspector courses;
• auditing, guiding and disciplining course providers;
• providing pool safety certificate numbers available for purchase by approved inspectors.
To learn more about the Pool Safety Council’s work, you can read the Council’s newsletters which can be found at http://www.dlgp.qld.gov.au/pool-safety/pool-safety-council-newsletters.html
